First of all in category ‘Favorite themes’ I have to pay my respects to the  Manifest Theme by Jim Barraud since it was the start of my WordPress adventure. Years ago I decided to pick up writing and start a blog. After some googling I had found that something called WordPress was the best way to go (thanks Copyblogger!), I installed it and looked for a nice theme. Manifest immediatly grabbed my attention.

Manifest has a very basic, minimalistic design which is excellent for blogs which focus on content. Because it’s esthetic simplicity the display of images really pops and compliment the content! Take a look at Manifest live in action: Echoes from emptinessDiane Foug and Alleluia Fotos.

Ofcourse writing wasn’t as easy as it sounded and I sort of got stuck tweaking WordPress until one day I stumbled on a little file called ‘style.css’ and decided to change a few numbers just for fun. Really? Yes, I quess that’s just the kind of guy I am; LIVING ON THE EDGE. Suddenly though (for those who judge me) a glorious thing had happened: the font color had changed! And so it had begun…

Manifest has no widget erea’s, is not responsive, or retina ready. The growing list of fantastic functionalities that WordPress has to offer will not be available here. But still after 4,5 internet years (about 75 regular years) it design remains beautiful and by no means outdated. Great work mr. Barraud!

I hope you have enjoyed this article and that it was of use to you, if you have any questions, additions or remarks please do not hesitate to leave me a comment below. Godspeed!
